50 years: Man to the Moon and Tourism to Lires
This summer we have turned 50 receiving guests from all corners of the world, which makes it pioneers in the world of rural tourism in Galicia and the first in all of Spain. Casa Raúl was born as a farmhouse in 1968, being the first house in Galicia to welcome guests to share with them what life was like in this small village of Lires. Since then, three generations of the family have enjoyed the company of travelers from all corners of the world, opening the doors of their home to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful corners of the Costa da Morte in a quiet and family atmosphere . This being our hallmark, renewed facilities that have maintained their origin in a place to share experiences and renew emotions. It all started in the sixties, when the Agricultural Extension Service put into operation various agricultural training and domestic economy programs, among others. These were carried out through the establishment of campuses, groups of young people who attended the workshops in order to carry out community works such as waterways or asphalting roads. In this way an innovative experience called rural tourism began. The first guests arrived on the day when the man stepped on the moon and that Vallisoleta family that arrived for what would initially be 4 or 5 days became three weeks, which was the most they could miss from work. Without a doubt a historical event that adds to the history of our house.
